Volkmar Haase was born in Berlin, Germany in 1930. From 1949 to 1950 he was in high school for arts and crafts in Berlin and then between 1951 and 1958, Haase studied painting at the College of Visual Arts in Berlin (Hochschule für Bildende Künste Berlin); master student of Prof. Max Kaus; self-educated acquirement of metal sculpture From then until his death he practiced as a freelance sculptor in Berlin-West.
